Hospitable Environment and Talent Accelerator present EMERGING SUSSEX - A Sussex-wide Young Artists Open Call.

Are you aged 14–25 and living in Sussex? Are you an artist, designer, sculptor, mover, maker, or visual storyteller? We want to hear from you with your responses to the theme: Hold on Tight

Chosen by the Coastal Catalyst Youth Board, this theme invites you to respond in any way that you choose, and to explore chaos, energy, joy, fear, tension, resilience and transformation. What are you clinging to? What’s slipping away? What do you want to hold on tight to?

Artworks will be showcased as part of Artwave 2025, one of the South East's most exciting visual arts festivals — giving your work a platform across the district. By joining the exhibition you will gain a place in a high-profile group show with:-

  • Exposure to curators, mentors, and a wide public audience

  • Promotion across digital and regional platforms

  • A chance to be selected for an arts prize, awarded by a selection panel drawn from across the creative and cultural sectors in Sussex.

No experience is necessary and we invite artists and creatives at all levels. Whether you’re just starting out, or building your arts portfolio, if you’ve got something to say, this is your moment - Hold on Tight!

The exhibition will be listed as an Artwave 2025 venue and will take place in the prestigious BN9 Studio, at the Marine Workshops in Newhaven. It will be open to the general public on weekends from 13th - 21st September.

It's completely free to enter. If you'd like to join in, please let us know here.
